What is the best place to live in Alabama?

Sadly I live in redneck Alabama and I will have to go to college one day here since out of state is so much :( I live in Birmingham and I want to live where interracial dating isnt an issue or homosexuality. I like modern places and dont really like the country side. I want to get far away from Birmingham as I can but still be in Alabama. I need to know so I can start looking for Universities. I am planning on moving the hell outta here as soon as I finish college. Can someone help me find places. <3 Merci !
